Mondays

I have a lingering problem with Mondays in my classes. It's not the kids.... It's just that for some reason I always get their names slightly wrong on Mondays...

Apparently, my internal hard drive that keeps everything straight reboots after two days. Plus, Monday is when we turn in lesson plans by eight am, and I have morning duty, and my dog keeps trying to get into my cup of cocoa.... By the time classes actually start, I'm shocked if I can remember my own name!

I've tried telling myself it's Tuesday, but that doesn't work. I just feel my frozen feet and think, "Oh, I just came in from herding kids around outside for half an hour... it must be Monday."

Plus, there's always the knowledge that the kids have forgotten what we were doing on Friday.
